Welcome to my blog site....
My name is Ethel Paine and I originally come from Begabari Village in the North Coast area of Oro Province in Papua New Guinea. Born and raised in a tiny family village called Deu where forests, creeks and rivers were a playground for me as a kid , I naturally developed my sense of adventure and the likings of nature.

My sense of adventure and curiosity has seen me travel extensively in my home land Papua New Guinea and Internationally. In my blogsite you will find the stories of my travel/ adventure experiences and stories from my nasi ( Village).

Queenstown 10th-12th January, 2011

A dinner out at a Korean resturant with travellers I met. ( An Italian, Chinese and a Dutch)

Beneath the foothills of towering mountains lie New Zealand's famous Queenstown. A touristy town with a population of 13 000 inhabitants who mostly in my surprise are foreigners who obviously outnumber the locals. A town that never seem to run out of thrilling activities for its visitors for almost 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. No wonder, it attracts traellers here.
I planned to stay here for 3 nights, 2 full days and half a day. Based at Blacksheep hostel just 2 minutes walk into the town centre I casually tried to enjoy the town as much as I can with taking walks on the streets of Queenstown to view the posh resturants, coffee shops and bars/pubs. The waterfront was the perfect place to hangout and enjoy the summer heat and lazily watch the day pass as people from all ages and walks of life flock in and out of this town.
Would I have chose to stay longer? Depends on individuals interest and really for me it was quite an enough time to be in town. I was finally looking forward to my next leg of travels with Straybus.
